Rockstar has come under serious criticism after it laid off 31 employees from the Rockstar North studio in the United Kingdom at the end of October without much explanation. The company claims it was due to a "violation of rules," but many believe the real reason is union organizing. Most of the dismissed were in the IWGB union or were actively working on enrolling colleagues, leading to quick accusations of an attempt to stifle the union. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer reacted immediately, stating that the case is concerning. He emphasized that every worker has the right to be a union member and that the government will check whether Rockstar acted legally. In Parliament, the case was raised by MP Chris Murray, who met with Rockstar on behalf of the dismissed workers. He revealed that the company initially refused to speak with him without signing an NDA, but changed their mind when he declined. Even after the meeting, he was not convinced by their explanation. "Rockstar fired 31 people without evidence and without union representatives," Murray said. "I did not get a clear picture of what these people actually did to deserve immediate dismissal." More than 200 people from Rockstar signed a petition for the reinstatement of the dismissed colleagues, and protests were held outside some offices. The situation remains uncertain, and the pressure on Rockstar continues to grow. You can view the details of the entire case here
