The game is coming out at the end of 2026 on Steam.

Japanese indie developer Konno Tobari has announced Echoes of the Flame, a new 2.5D story-driven turn-based RPG currently in development for PC. The game will be released via Steam in late 2026, specifically between November and December, initially with support for the Japanese language. English and simplified Chinese will be added throughout 2027.

Echoes of the Flame follows two separate groups of characters whose stories alternate through different perspectives. The plot is set in a world where there is a cycle of souls, and special guardians known as Flame Wardens are tasked with protecting this order. Players will follow the journeys of the characters Haku and Ren, who set out from different parts of the world towards the sacred peak Coral.

Gameplay is based on turn-based combat without random encounters. Each battle is designed as a tactical challenge, with a special emphasis on the shield system, flexible character builds, and equipment customization. Instead of classic leveling, the game uses a Combat Points system, through which skills, passive abilities, and stat upgrades are unlocked.

The developer also plans an Easy Mode for players who want to focus more on the story and exploration. The estimated game duration is between 10 and 15 hours, depending on play style and the amount of exploration.
