Polylithic will leave Steam Early Access on August 25, 2026, and receive its biggest update yet. This colorful survival game set in the Stone Age gives players the role of a tribe leader that gradually evolves from Paleolithic hunters and gatherers to a more organized Neolithic settlement. Version 1.0 introduces hostile tribes, dogs, and hyenas as animal companions, character appearance customization, a new hunger and health system, improved artificial intelligence, and additional items, weapons, and mushrooms. Players will also be able to shout at wild animals, use gestures around the campfire, and participate in a new cooking mini-game that randomly generates recipes, often with quite disastrous results.
The game has been available in Early Access since November 2023 and has received over 50 updates shaped by community feedback during its development. Originally conceived as a more serious survival experience, Polylithic has gradually adopted a more humorous tone, a more pronounced visual identity, and new animated sequences inspired by BBC nature documentaries. In addition to the campaign, the game supports online cooperative play for up to ten players and a procedurally generated Sandbox mode. Polylithic will cost $14.99 on Steam, with a 35 percent discount for its release, and version 1.0 will support English, Czech, French, German, Russian, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese, and Japanese languages.
