Microsoft explained through its official website that at the end of 2025, they raised the prices of their consoles and hoped they wouldn't have to resort to this move again. Unfortunately, they are forced to do so because the prices of RAM, graphics, and memory continue to rise. In early August 2026, they will increase prices for all their models, with the 512 GB version going up by $100, and the stronger 1 TB version by $150. They also announced that they will not continue producing the 2 TB version.
No one knows how long the price increases will last, nor whether things will ever return to normal. Next-generation consoles have not yet been announced, but given the current state of the market, four-digit prices would not surprise anyone.
