The new Capcom hit Resident Evil Requiem, released on February 27, has achieved enormous success among players and critics. After its first weekend of release, the game climbed to the top of Metacritic with an impressive user score of 9.5, sharing the title of the highest-rated game of all time according to users. Requiem stands alongside the title Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and according to user ratings, it surpasses classics like Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, and Silent Hill. Interestingly, the unusual title Disney Cory in the House also made the list of highly rated games. Along with Clair Obscur, Requiem is one of the few titles from the 2020s that are in the top 10 of all time according to user ratings. When it comes to critic scores, Resident Evil Requiem currently leads the releases from 2026 with a Metascore of 88, which it shares with the games Pokémon Pokopia, Mewgenics, and Esoteric Ebb. All of this positions Requiem as a serious contender for the Game of the Year award.
