A short indie game uses handmade paper materials to tell the personal story of an artist from New York.

Bub is a new short narrative adventure from the indie studio Paperfrog. The game follows an artist from New York who faces a serious illness and a gradual loss of creative abilities, which leads him to invest his last energy in creating worlds based on his own memories.

Instead of classic 3D graphics, Bub uses thousands of real handmade materials, including paper cutouts, drawings, images, and collages. This approach gives the game a look reminiscent of stop-motion animation, with a tangible world that emphasizes the personal and intimate nature of the story.

Players will explore moments from Bub's past through these handcrafted scenes and gradually piece together a picture of his life. Bub has currently been announced for PC via Steam, with a release expected in mid or late 2027.
