Home / Previews / Splitscreen Croatia - a new face on the conference scene

A worthy successor to Reboot Develop Blue?

Split will host a new gaming conference called Splitscreen Croatia from April 20 to 22, 2027. It is a stress-free conference that brings together industry experts on the coast of Croatia, with the mission of celebrating the culture and skill of video game development. Splitscreen will welcome creators, studios, and partners with a high level of networking, collaboration, and meetings in one of our larger cities. One of the co-organizers of this conference is Hrvoje Mitić, who is the secretary of the Croatian Game Developers Association (CGDA).

Connection to Reboot Develop

Splitscreen is a new event created by a completely new team, but it has connections and fond memories of Reboot Develop Blue. They stated that if you loved Reboot, you will feel at home here as they build a new chapter. In the coming weeks and months, more information will be announced about speakers, panels, experiences, and tickets. Stay in touch, as this is just the beginning!

The Fall of an Empire

For those who may not be following the local scene closely and are wondering where the Reboot team has gone, we unfortunately have to inform you that the magazine itself, as well as Infogamer and Reboot Develop Blue, were sadly shut down last year. According to information shared by editorial members on the official Discord, the fall of one of the more significant magazines and events in our scene occurred due to owner Damir Đurović.

As reported by Tportal in February 2026, Fina launched an investigation against Đurović's company Digitalna avantura d.o.o, which faced bankruptcy due to a debt of 520,000 euros, and its creditors were called by the Commercial Court in Zagreb to pay 2,000 euros within 15 days by the end of that month to cover the costs of the previous bankruptcy proceedings.

Digitalna avantura d.o.o was established in 2012, headquartered on Rugvička Street, with a founding capital of 2,654.46 euros (20,000 kuna), and one of the founders was Đurović. According to the last submitted profit and loss account published on the Financial Agency (Fina) website for 2024, the company had 1.12 million euros in revenue and nearly 139,000 euros in profit. Damir Đurović, besides Reboot, is also known to many gamers in the local scene as the former editor-in-chief of Hacker, which was the first Croatian gaming magazine launched in 1994.

In the meantime, the spirit of Infogamer has continued to live on through smaller events named Zagreb Games Week and Fantastic Infogamer.
